S. Carey Floats 'In the Stream'

At heart, Bon Iver's debut, For Emma, Forever Ago, was all Justin Vernon, both in the pained songwriting and haunting falsetto. But on stage, his songs took on a new, intense feel, propelled by the passionate drumming of S. Carey.

With Bon Iver at rest, Carey has stepped out from the kit with his debut, All We Grow, which embraces the spooky resonance of his work with Vernon, but adds to it a dramatic quality that emanates his percussive soul.

All We Grow will be released on August 24, but in the meantime, Carey has released two of the tracks for your consumption, and the album will be available for streaming in its entirety via NPR's Exclusive First Listen.
